Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] Maggie's Place - Help Needed

Brothers,

Maggie's Place has asked if we can help them out on Saturday December 2nd at their Fiat House in downtown Phoenix to help serve a meal to roughly 200 mothers and children. The commitment is only between 9am – noon.  This is a wonderful opportunity to kick-off the Christmas Season by giving back to those less fortunate!!! If you, your spouse (significant other) and/or family would like to help kindly email or call me and I will place you on the volunteer list.

Maggie's Place is a community that provides houses of hospitality for pregnant and parenting women in need who are living in the greater Phoenix, AZ

Men's Conference - Feb 3, 2018

Sent: Tuesday, November 7, 2017 9:05 PM

Subject: Men's Conference - Feb 3, 2018

Brother Knights,

The always sold out Men's Conference will be held Saturday, this coming February 3, 2018.

It is my understanding the conference will continue to explore Bishop Olmsted's INTO THE BREACH, An Apostolic Exhortation To Catholic Men. There are always powerful speakers, including Bishop Olmsted, who usually celebrates a High Mass to end the conference.

Even though it is a few months away, last year;s conference was sold out in about a week. Hence, I urge those of you who have gone in the past, and those who have never experienced the energy generated during this conference to let me know by this Friday, November 10th.

I will do my best to get us really good seats, but I must have a count by this Friday. The tickets generally run just under $50. I'll have more information this weekend.

Please email me at ChasLanz@gmail.com.

Yours in Christ,
Charley Lanzillotta

is a member of our 4th Degree Assembly and a friend to many in this
council. Vera was found to have a cancerous lump in her breast and will
require surgery followed by treatments. Please pray for these ladies and

Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] Monday Night Football

Worthy Brothers,
Tomorrow, Monday the 25th, the Monday night football game will feature the Arizona Cardinals hosting the Dallas Cowboys. The Knights are co-hosting a viewing of the game at the Parish Center with the Men of St. Joseph. The event is open to everyone and promises to be a great opportunity for fellowship.
The Knights, under the direction of Wayne Conway, have agreed to handle the grilling duties and as such we will need the help of 6 or so brothers to assist. We will begin the preparation and  grilling at 4pm to have everything ready by game time about 5:30pm. Please come and enjoy the game. For those who volunteer to help Bill Drummey says he might divulge the secret of his world famous cole slaw. That alone would be worth the time.

Subject: 2017 Grand Canyon Invitation!!

Brother Knights,

There is still time to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Canyon and a genuine wonder of God's handiwork.

Consider a weekend at the home of Father Rafael Bercasio at El Cristo Rey Catholic Church, the only Catholic Church in a U.S. National Park. Father is generous with guests, acting as their private tour guide to parts of the Canyon seldom seen by casual visitors.

All weekends in September and October are available.

If you are interested and able, kindly contact me to schedule a Saturday/Sunday at the fabulous "wonder of the world."
(Father has a guest room with two single beds and a half-bath attached. A full bath for bathing or showering is also available.)
Thank you for considering a unique spiritual experience with Father Rafael and the grandeur of the Grand Canyon.

Maggie's Place Needs Our Help!

Subject: Maggie's Place Needs Our Help!

Brothers,

Maggie's Place (a collection of homes for pregnant and parenting women) needs our help next Saturday July 1st installing pavers in a small area  (15*15 foot area) at Mary's Place in downtown Phoenix. Knowing that many of us love to work in the heat I volunteered our council to get the job done!  Plans are to meet in the parking lot at Corpus Christi at 6:30am so we can caravan to Mary's Place.

We will need someone with a truck since we need to supply the sand (pavers are already at the house).  Also needed are a few shovels, 2 pick axes, 2 brooms and a wheel barrel.

Kindly let me know ASAP if you can assist as we only need 5-7 healthy (or semi-healthy) men to get this done in 3-4 hours.  We will stop for ice cream on the way home.

Raffle Update

Worthy District Deputies and Grand Knights,

The annual state convention is less than 3 weeks away.  This is the time to really energize your council(s) to sell charity raffle tickets.  Many councils that are historically successful with this project sell more than 50% of their total in the final 2 - 3 weeks.  Now is the time to push, not to close down.  Please ask your brother knights to get at least two or more books of tickets sold before the deadline. With several thousand Knights in the state, this would make a huge difference for the local and state charities.

If each brother Knight could sell at least one additional book of tickets at $20 per book, it could generate more than $260,000 extra for the project...half of that total comes back to the council for its charities while the remainder funds the council incentive plan, cost of tickets and prizes (about 10%).  The balance helps to cover the charities that depend upon our state organization to assist them...St. Joseph Youth Camp, St. Vincent de Paul, Right to Life, First Wave,  Rosary Sunday, Men's Conference and numerous programs/projects for our Bishops (Olmsted, Kicanas, Wall and Nevares).

Sell the charity not the prizes!  We are a charitable organization and we do this project for our charities, not for the money.

GK, Please forward this message to your Council Brothers.

Brothers,

This coming weekend, February 11th & 12th, there will be rallies nationwide to Defund Planned Parenthood.

I ask that you take time this weekend to participate in one of these events in the Phoenix area.

I encourage you to wear Knights emblem apparel and remember to behave as Catholic Gentlemen at what can be a tense but necessary event.  It is only fair to let you know that Planned Parenthood has counter rallies planned at the same time.  Our participation and prayers are desperately needed to protect the unborn and those mothers considering abortion.

It is important to review and follow the guidelines contained so we conduct our Rally without reproach for our actions.  We will have many of the Knights "Protect Life" posters available.  These will be led by members of the Protect Life community.

Below is the information for the Tempe Rally and attached is the information about the Glendale Rally,

Saturday - Planned Parenthood Tempe Health Center.  We will pray on the public sidewalk in front of PP from 9 to 11 a.m. The clinic is on the NW corner of Apache Blvd and Dorsey Lane in Tempe.  There is plenty of parking along Dorsey Lane and in the lot behind the shopping center to the North.

Sunday - Planned Parenthood - Glendale - See attached flyer.
