Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] Reminder - 1st Degree ceremony this Saturday morning

Brothers,

Please join us tomorrow morning for a 1st degree ceremony to welcome new brothers to our council. The local councils are estimated to be sending 3-5 candidates.

All are encouraged to attend not only to help the new Brothers feel welcome but also to be reminded on why we became Knights (Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism).

Please arrive by 8:45am and we will wrap up the ceremony at 10am. Coffee and Donuts will be served after the ceremony.

Vivat Jesus!!

Raffle Thank You!!

Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] Raffle Thank You!!

Brother Knights!
Our 2016 State Raffle has come to a close with great success for Council 10062. Not only did we exceed our goal we did it in spectacular style. As of May 9th we had barely collected $10,000.00 and I was prepared to give St. Vincent dePaul Society a check for far less than we expected. But guess what happened? Our Knights came through again and all the way up to our deadline of 3:00pm Saturday May 21st. We managed to collect another $12,000.00 to reach our final tally of $21,985.00. I can't even begin to thank you enough for another JOB WELL DONE.
This very successful project is the results of a tremendous "TICKET TEAM". Those that helped stuff envelopes, sell tickets after Masses, and help at our "stamping party" are the reason we again can give St. Vincent dePaul another check in excess of $10,000.00 for the third year in a row.
So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do for charity!
VIVAT JESUS!

[SJB Dads' Club] Poker Tournament

Sent: Monday, May 16, 2016 5:21 PM

Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] FW: [SJB Dads' Club] Poker Tournament

Brothers,

Here is a way to have fun and meet local Catholics from St. Benedicts and Corpus Christi. The majority of St. John Bosco dad's go to our two parishes and they support our events.

Please consider enjoying an evening and supporting your community.

Dave

I know you have all been eagerly waiting for another great Dads' Club event so here it is; the last major Dads' Club event of the year is here, the Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament.  The Poker Tournament is a great evening of fun and fellowship where you can just possibly go home with more money than you had when you started.  The tournament is open to everyone so bring your wives, neighbors, in-laws or workmates along.  This year the proceeds from the poker tournament are going to stay "in house" with half the gross going to the final table and half to the Dads' Club general fund to benefit St. John Bosco rather than being donated to an outside charity. Our 20% chip bonus for donations at the door is also focused on helping out the school as we are requesting classroom supplies that can be distributed among the teachers.  Bring in at least  4 rolls or paper towels, containers of Clorox wipes or boxes of Kleenex and start off with 20%% more chips.

The event is being held on Friday May 20th in the MPR.  The doors will open at 6:30 and the tournament will start at 7:00.

Please register your friends and yourselves here.for the tournament.

If you are feeling a little risk adverse and don't want to buy in to the tournament you can still participate by volunteering.  I can always use a few more dealers, training will be provided.

If you need a little refresher on Texas Hold'em rules and specifically you can find the SJB official procedures here.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me @ 480-296-1531 or sander.b.bs@gmail.com

See you at the tournament,
Brad Sanders

Subject: Help Needed - Raffle at the convention

Brothers,
Each year our council has stood tall in the eyes of the AZ State K of C with our council's charity raffle campaign...but also because of the manpower that we provide to handle the physical process of collecting the tickets and handling the paper flow for a smooth transaction for each council.  This year, we really need your help again at the state convention.
Perhaps the best part is that the convention is at a great location - Casino Del Sol in Tucson on Friday / Saturday 5/20 - 5/21.
If you can help...PLEASE, PLEASE...we need assistance from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 12:00 to  6:00 on Friday and from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 12:00 to 4:00 on Saturday.  We will hold a brief training session on Tuesday night 5/17 after the ticket process meeting.
Again - PLEASE, PLEASE try to take time to come and assist for all or part of the time slots. We need up to 12 people at all times to handle the people and paper flow.
BONUS...YOU CAN ENJOY THE CASINO AS WELL!!!!

Vivat Jesus,

Email blast for raffle

Sent: Wednesday, May 4, 2016 3:29 PM

Subject: [Corpus Christi 10062 Mail] Email blast for raffle

Fellow Brother, for the past two years we were able to give the Corpus Christi St Vincent de Paul a little more than $10,000 each year from our raffle sales.  As of today we are at $6,400 with two more weeks to sell tickets.
We need your help to raise money for St Vincent de Paul. In February we gave or mailed tickets to every member.  You might not still have them but you can send us a check for any amount in $5 increments (1 book = $20, 6 books = $100, 1 and 5 free tickets respectfully) and we'll make out the tickets for you.  Give us a name and a telephone number that you want on the tickets.
·         Seventy-Three [73] members of our total membership of 325 have sold or bought ticket.
·         Last year we had 90 members sell or buy a 'Century Sell' of $100.  This year we are at 72.
The lesson of the 1st degree is CHARITY.  Maybe you are not able to attend our meeting but you can help us raise money for Charity.  The Charity Raffle is a fund raiser.  Please help us so we can help our local St Vincent de Paul.
"We must feed the hungry or be damned! Did I get your attention? I hope so! The very core of Christianity is not to focus on self but…to focus on others."  This quote is attributed to: Fr. Larry Richards, host of EWTN radio show.
As always any contribution is gladly accepted, but it is important that YOU DO contribute to this very important project!
God Bless you and your Family!
