Brothers-

Please pray for Brother Chris's dad.

I won't be attending our Council meeting next week as I will be in Iowa visiting my parents.  My Dad has recently been moved to hospice due to the worsening of his congestive heart failure condition. I'm requesting prayers from Brother Knights as Dad's time is limited.  Thank You and Happy New Year.

URGENT Fruit pickers needed

Subject: Fruit pickers needed

Brothers-

We fruit pickers! See the message from Brother Mike:

Doug.....Father Salcido and the Miles Jesu Community are having what they are calling a Orange Festival on Saturday January 10th. I committed us to having a crew there on Saturday January the 3rd. Hopefully we can come through with  a considerable number of Knights on that day to do some picking and bagging of oranges. There will be much more harvesting to be done after the 3rd but this date is critical since it's only one week before the event. I've also committed myself and four other Knights to help with traffic control the day of the event. So We'll need volunteers to help out with that. This is expected to be a well attended event. Please send out a blast a couple of times in the next couple of weeks to see if we can drum up some commitments to help with this endeavor. I hoping that we won't let Father down. He needs help with this special event.
Please have the men that will commit to notify me of their commitment to help. Thanks Mike

Brothers-

We need you for Knights Kids on Saturday December 6th at 6 AM to help shop for about 40 under privileged kids who will be coming to JC Penny's.  Through the generosity of brother Knights, In Country Vietnam Vets and others including  JC Penny's, each child will have $100 to spend on clothing and will be afforded Penny's discounts thus  increasing the overall value of the purchase. Open Adoration Hour

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Brothers-

I have sent this out before, however we still have some slots open (may not be all of the ones below).  With the holidays coming up and friends and relatives in town, why not as a family activity, pick an hour of Adoration, even if it is not one of the ones below.  It might just be the thing to bring everyone together  to focus on our Lord during a time of the year were "hustle & bustle" seems to dominate.

Also this activity might be just what a friend or relatives needs who may have fallen away or is in doubt.

Please consider this.

Doug, here is the list of hours that we need help on.  I know a lot of Knights are doing hours but maybe there are some who would like to take these early morning hours:

Sunday: 5 AM
Monday: 2 AM and 3 AM
Saturday: 7 PM and 8 PM

Maybe on Saturday we can get four men to take one hour each week.

Also, one of our goals is to have prayer partners for each hour, so ask if Knights will consider taking any hour.

Remember Jesus never asked anything of his Apostles except that they watch with Him for one Hour.

Please have any responses sent to me.

Rosary Hike

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

Brothers-

The weather forecast for this Saturday:

Nov 1
Partly Cloudy
80°FHigh / 60°F Low
Partly Cloudy
Chance of rain: 0%
Wind: SSW at 12 mph
Humidity: 45%
UV Index: 5 - Moderate
Sunrise: 6:47 am

What a great day  to start off with a hike, more specifically a "Family Rosary Hike"  featuring our very own Fr. Rafael!  The hike starts right after the 8:15 AM Mass, gathering in the east parking lot.  Now that the weather has cooled, should be about 70 degrees at start time, so come one come all, bring the family, the neighbors (they don't have to belong to Corpus Christi, they don't even have to be Catholic).  The hike will last about 2 hours, with a stop about halfway through to hear a reflection from Father!

For more details, take a glance at the attached flyer, hope to see you there!

Vivat  Jesus!

Membership drive weekend

Friday, October 24, 2014

Brothers-

Father Chad has agreed to let our council conduct a membership drive the weekend of  November 8&9. We will be able to give a 2-3 minute speech at each Mass, and be in the courtyard after each Mass.

I would like to ask for volunteers to speak at each Mass. The speach would consist of scripted message and then a personal witness as to how being a member of the Knights has affected you.  Please contact me if you would be interested and what Mass(s) you would like to speak at!

Everyone else, please plan to wear your shirt and/or badge and be in the courtyard after the Mass you attend.  Last year this format yielded many inquires, positive feedback and great new members.

Prayers for Fr. Sigman

Monday, October 20, 2014

> Brother Knights,
>
> The most recent news regarding the health of Father Sigman, the Founding Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish is disturbing.  According to my source, Fr. Sigman was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and "sent home to die".
>
> Father Sigman was not only the Founding Pastor of our parish, he was a Fourth Degree Knight and a strong supporter of the Knights of Columbus.  He is a gracious and warm man who converted to the Catholic Faith from another religion before he became entering the seminary.  Fr. Sigman was also the Founding Pastor of St. Daniel the Prophet Parish in Scottsdale.
>
> Please keep Father Sigman in your prayers as he progresses toward his eternal home with our Savior.
>
> (Father's exact health issues are not known and all the skills of modern medical science seem unable to accurately diagnose his various maladies.)

Distribute Rosaries 10/4 and 10/5, Texas Hold'em 11/1

Thursday, October 2, 2014

Brother Knights,

We will once again be distributing free rosaries after all the masses this weekend in advance of Rosary Sunday on 10/12.

I could use a few volunteers after each mass to help me out so if you have a few minutes after the mass you normally attend to help, I would appreciate it.

Also, mark your calendars to play Texas Hold'em to support our seminarians on Saturday, Nov. 1st at 6 pm in Rooms 5 & 6. If you have any items to donate for prizes that would be greatly appreciated! See the bulletin for more details.

I will be attending Fr. Chad's Adult Faith Formation series and will not be at the Knight's meeting 10/2 so call if you have any questions, thanks!

Safe Environment Training for KoC

Friday, October 3, 2014

Brothers-

As mentioned in our meeting last night.  In brief, from the State and the Diocese, all Knights must to go through SET training in order to participate in  activities.

Please try to attend one of the sessions listed below.  Call the office to register for the class:  480-893-8770.

Doug

Hi Doug,

I talked to John Deg, our Safe Environment Coordinator, earlier today about your request for Safe Environment training for the Knights.  We discussed holding a session before one of the Thursday meetings, but because of the time of the training, to finish before 7pm the meeting would have to start at 4:30pm, at the latest.  That seemed like it might be a hardship for people who work 9-5.

However, John is hosting two Safe Environment Training sessions in the next few weeks that would be available for Knights who need the initial training.

Saturday, October 11 @ 1:30-4:00 pm in Rooms 5/6 Wednesday, October 22 @ 6:30-9:00 pm in Rooms 7/8/9

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

2014-2015 Council 10062 Budget

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Brothers-

Attached is a proposed budget that was reviewed at the last leadership meeting.  The budget was prepared by the Worthy Financial Secretary and distribute to all in attendance at the leadership meeting on Thursday, September 18th.  Since then he has updated the budget to reflect recent events and information.

Please review the attachment and come to the meeting to discuss and vote on it.  We will spend a limited amount of time for discussion hence it is being sent out ahead for review rather than presenting it cold at the meeting.

Help for Father Chad

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Brothers-

I little while back when we met with Father Chad, in our conversation he asked the Knights for some help, some of those requests have already been conveyed however one request was for support of projects around the campus of Corpus Christi.

Specifically the church in need of repairs such as HVAC units (A/C), church sound system,  bathroom repair, Parish hall ; carpet, lighting, kitchen etc... Father Chad was not necessarily looking for cash donations, although always welcome, but help in the form of trades or connection to trades.

So Brothers, if you are the in trades field or have connections in such and feel they may be helpful in completing one or more of the aforementioned projects or would like to have more details, please contact either Steve or Carol, listed below and mention this email.

Open Adoration Hour

Tuesday, September 16, 2014
Brothers-

We have an urgent need of adorations to be filled!  I know many of you regularly attend an adoration hour or two, however some spots go unfilled.  Brother Dave coordinates adoration hour and has several hours open, they are some of the more challenging hours to fill (see below).  If you are unable to commit to every week maybe a pooling plan can work i.e. once per month ,rotating with three other Knights.

Please contact Dave to discuss:
